    Previously the switches on the ax8 could only toggle a block on and off or x/y. Now a foot switch on the unit and make the reverb hold engage or it can be used to change between Leslie speeds etc. Keep your eyes open, I made a few patches while this function was in beta that I'll post today.

    Many of the drive blocks are really responsive. I like the Esoteric ACB a lot. I like to use multiple drive blocks at really low gain settings (often between 0 and 1 on drive knob.) Also the low cut control can bring out the articulation by feeding less lows to the drive circuit.

    This was built using my pre fender Gretsch Duo Jet with filtertrons into an AX8 running a sim of a Vibroverb It's a sub octave > big muff > PEQ (to bring back some mids) > an auto engage filter with out the filter it sounds a lot like Jack Whites sound on "Blue Orchid"

    Fx8 has met or exceeded the pedals on my board for tremolo, delay, reverb, compression, whammy and pitch vibrato. The drives are pretty darn good and I use them live and in the studio but it didn't replace all of my analog ones.

    If it's a 'fuzz' put it before the fx8. Fuzzes generally really want guitar level impedence. Any other drive if put between pre and post. That way if it's your core dirty tone you can push it with a digital drive before for more gain or after it for more volume.
