Thanks voes. Got it. I'll use my DAW.

    Resore ultra from backup

Not to Axe-edit though, correct? Only to a midi utility or sequencer if I understand correctly?

    Resore ultra from backup

Thanks Bakerman. So my intuition was right that Axe-edit doesn't back up patch/controller mapping etc while backing up the preset data? It must be done in a separate operation?

    Resore ultra from backup

I was wondering if the old axe-edit restores midi controller assignments and preset mapping from backups in addition to presets. I've never had to restore and don't want to get caught by surprise in the event of a problem. Anybody?

What will be Fractal's next product?

    I third this.

    Producer Pack IRs

They have to be converted from Axe2 to Axe1 format with the axe-o-matic program. It's free and works well. I was just wondering if they're putting them out.

    Producer Pack IRs

I'm really wanting to try the Dumble 4x12 with EV12L for overdriven Fender stuff.

    Producer Pack IRs

I was wondering that myself. I'd love to try the blends in my old workhorse ultra.

    We want Firmware 12

Yeah, I'm feelin a little left out but I still love my ultra.

How much do you use drive blocks?

+1 for using them the same as real world. Kick them in for solos. Grunge up a clean or semi-dirty amp. When I use a tube screamer to slam the front end of a vibroverb I get very predicatable texas blues style results for instance.

    Axe-FX II DAW plugin?

Cliff mentioned he talked to UA on a thread a while back but I don't know what the result was. I would buy a UAD card just to run Axe-pc.

What's the word on version 11 firmware?

Well put. Smoother high transients, less spikey highs. Perfect for what I'm going for.

    Standard/Ultra firmware 11

It's really obvious to me. I don't have to worry about the 7-8k region AT ALL anymore . I can do everything with just the amp controls now. Fantastic!

    Standard/Ultra firmware 11

Is it just me or did it make the high end sweeter in addition to making the low end tighter?

    question about firmware 11.XX

Totally tightens up the power amp. Now I can slam virtual 6L6 fender amps and they stay a lot tighter. Love it!

    Firmware 11 isn't recognized by axe-edit...

Took me 4 tries on my macbook. Bad checksum. Finally it worked. Using axe-edit.

    Countdown 0.5...

I bought one of the first ultras-version 3. something and during this time it has improved by leaps and bounds. I definitely got my moneys worth. I'd be happy to play through it forever as I've barely scratched the surface.

What's the word on version 11 firmware?

Real nice update. It really tightens up the low end on my overdrive fender patches where the virtual 6L6's would start farting out.

    Countdown 0.5...

Man, I hope so. I've been gassing for that for YEARS!

    Amp sim requests

Late 60's Sunn coliseum PA. The classic Leslie West amp if my info is correct.

    USB Coming Soon?

I'm not a computer expert but I can see why they don't do usb. They then have to support tons of different systems and drivers and as a small company they can't spare the man hours. Anyway, thats my guess. Having said that, I'd love usb.

I've been gassing for these myself.

One more time: frfr vs amp old thing, sorry...

For me, the cone speaker is the biggest difference in feel from FR cabs. It does automatically feel more 'in the room" for me. However, I really miss the modeled cabs when I'm going through cones.. Nothing like the brownface model in the 15"blues cab sim for that Srv thang. When I go through a...

Well put.I have one from the first run of Ultras. I think it was around version 3.8 or something. I just tried it through a real guitar cab rather than direct and WOW. I never get tired of it. It's endless.
