Adequate Power Amp for a Passive Atomic CLR

Cheers, I´m on the list for an active Atomic CLR wedge, but these last days I´ve been thinking about getting a passive one. I really like all the features about the active wedge, and appreciate the fact that it would cost me less than going the passive + power amp route... But, in a deeper...

Queen - Don´t Stop Me Now

Hey fellas, I had to program a Brian May-ish patch, so I´ll test it tomorrow at rehearsal... Not your note-for-note solo, but very fun to play! I´d like to see your comments, please... For those who are interested on listening to the lossless 24bit/48khz mix... you can get it here...

For those using EVM12L's and power amps...

I've been using an EVM12L 1x12 cab, with a VHT 2/90/2, and Axe II. Let me get straight to the point: I find that I like to use the cab sims on only for clean tones, as it seems to make the notes more "muscular", thicker, and seems to cut better thru the mix. But when playing...

    Are Power Conditioners *really* necessary?

Would like to hear from some of the engineers here, should I really use one? Seems like the usual conditioners (cheapo) won't protect our equipment from lightning storms and such, but just from innocent spikes? And considering that most places where I'll gig won't have proper grounding...

EAW LA 212 wedge - Anyone?

Since I´ve read God ´s writings http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showpost.php?p=8754898&postcount=5 I can´t stop thinking about getting one of those wedges. Does anyone here have experience with it? I wonder if it´s much better than the Verve 12m, at double its price? Thanks!

    Acoustic Direct into Axe Ultra

I think most folks would agree that recording an acoustic is a pain... That being said, I started creating a patch for my cheapo acoustic, in order to get a half-decent recorded tone... I have recorded three samples with different settings, and would like to know your thoughts about them. Did...

Dr. Z Maz 38, Treble Booster and Telecaster -> Blues

Sorry for the sloppy playing/mistakes guys, no editing, okay? But I think someone out there might like it tonewise. I know I do 8-) Gotta love the orgasmic touch responsiveness of this model, great dynamics, and the warm, round, fuzzy quality of the treble boost reminds me of those Jimmy...

Here is the Plexi tone I have been hearing in my wildest dreams, since I was a teenager... Gotta say, thanks Mr. Cliff Chase, for making my dreams come true! Reverbs and delay thanks to forum user xpenno, I always use that fx chain he kindly posted here some time ago. Credit goes to him, as...

    Brutal tones

My first post here, please be kind... Usual disclaimers apply: playing sux, tempos are wrong, bla bla bla... This is the first time I´ve recorded anything with my Axe, or even my Tascam us-1641, Reaper and EZ drummer for that matter. Need to get me some headphones, or some cables to monitor...

Using the Axe-FX with a Hartke Bass Head - LH1000

Hello friends, I´m new to this forum, and eagerly waiting to receive my Ultra next week ! Fact is, can I achieve Full Range amplification connecting the Axe-FX to Hartke LH 1000 bass head effects return? Wouldn´t it theoretically bypass any tone coloring path in the circuit, delivering the...
