    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

I don't even think FM9 with double the cpu will get it , if it takes 25% on the AX3 , that giving up a lot of cpu on the Fm9 problem 50 of the 80 limits just to run the cabs , throw in an amp and basic operating in /out etc that another 12 -14% so you would literally be 65% of 80 w...

    FW Updates for the FM9?

I don't know I think it will take more than 1 update to catch us up , we are trailing by a bit the quick knobs. ABCDE , the pitch verbs , the pitch block itself , the Mega Tap delay block , the new drives , new flangers , new delays , and not 18.0 with the compressors

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

actually it is very much appreciated , I would rather be told a few weeks , than hoping Friday might see a release so I am cool with it Its the radio silence that bothers me more to be honest
  13. R

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

Abandoned is a strong word but somewhat neglected perhaps , and not because of the updates TBH more the lack of any communication after several have asked , its been radio silence
  14. R

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

I see this so much and frankly it gets just annoying . especially when it comes from people who have multiple FAS units and are enjoying all the updates to the 3 , yet then come here and make condescending comments like chill dude , or go play guitar . but I digress Part of the appeal...

Good Morning , I am having an issues uninstalling the FM3 editor. on Mac , recently. got the FM9 but on start up my FM3 edit still keeps launching it say . OS X .dmg. I ave deleted folders . locked in Apps , I cannot figure out where this is store and why it auto launches any advice
  20. R

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

agreed , its taking like 25% CPU. ON THE AX3 plus. it uses the IR player as well which is not on the FM series I find it doubtful even the FM9 will see it , its only really useful for more the studio cats , live won't be any advantage really
  21. R

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

  25. R

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

your a day early my man , I think there May be an update but it will be something like the couple of new delays and drives Flangers , the quick ABCDE fast keys maybe , the new gate , I don't think it will be the pitch block or new Pitch verbs
  26. R

    New firmware?

really must have missed that. one , I figured the FM9 will get and update when the FM3 does , even though it may be double the CPU. platform is the FM series
  27. R

New fx from the Axe-Fx III to the FM3?

sometimes but not always depends on things like CPU requirements the FM3 is pretty stocked full at the moment

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

The pitch is the one that seems to be the most problematic the fact that FM9 is twice the power and it was not able to run the same algo as the AX3 on release definitley indicates it is more difficult to incorporate than many think .

    Only one pitch block...Very Disappointed

If the new pitch fx in the reverb from the 3 can be added and just do like a micropitch fx w verb off that could technically add another basic pitch shift source
  46. R

Axe-Fx Firmware Release Version 17.01 Public Beta #2

that Zephyr delay is freaking awesome . might be my fav yet as mentioned above just sits beautifully and does not clutter the notes
  47. R

Axe-Fx Firmware Release Version 17.01 Public Beta #2

Its intresting and I see how it could be beneficial to something like an FM9 as well if you can use a additional pitch fx , its allowing some pitch to be handled on the reverb core again may be totally wrong
  48. R

Axe-Fx Firmware Release Version 17.01 Public Beta #2

I know it a combination block of verb/ pitch but can you just use the pitch shift alone like a an addl micropitch block ? just curious you would essentially then have 3 pitch blocks
  49. R

Axe-Fx Firmware Release Version 17.01 Public Beta #2

If it is pitch i would bet it is using a ton of cpu
  50. R

    FM3 Firmware Version 4.01

    @teddis ….. ?
  51. R

Any word on the FM3 getting the Axe III's Pitch Block?

I think the fact that FM9 does not have it says something the Fm9 has double the cpu but Fractal answered a comment saying it not just the CPU to consider maybe the Sharcs running at the slower speeds cant match the 3 pitch detector for latency
  52. R

Scenes vs Patches with FM9: Switching speed and CPU

I have not messed around with it a lot but depending on how different the settings are you will still potentialy hear the change using dual block like 2 delays 2 amps 2 verbs will always offer the most seamless transitions
  53. R

Scenes vs Patches with FM9: Switching speed and CPU

To get no gap you need 2 amp blocks then you can switch back and forth
  54. R

    Only one pitch block...Very Disappointed

Thats why i am hoping Cliff maybe adds a seperate capo/ whammy block for putting in front of the amp
  55. R

    Only one pitch block...Very Disappointed

Let me know if you find a way to duplicate that on the FM9 w ring mod would love to see the patch and settings

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 17.00 Public Beta 2

the problem I don't think is the storage , you could probably store them on a comp , the problem is the CPU it takes to use them is like 25% some said with a few mixed
  64. R

    Pitch block

Well it was mentioned months ago the engineer had successfully ported the pitch detector from the AXE3 the most important part my guess is the Cpu resources FM3 is pretty full and another 5 to 10% would kill the presets again they seem to be trying to optimize cpu every update but the fact...

  66. R

    Pitch block

They have been working on this for months i dont think it is an easy task, even FM9 with twice the CPU does not have the AXE3 equivalent and may never get there i think they may release an improvement update but the same i dont know about that

  69. R

Any word on the FM3 getting the Axe III's Pitch Block?

But is it even going to work with the updated block for that ? there is a post in the AX3 thread playing clean 1 semintone up and there is warble unless its a bug in the beta

    Virtual mods changing caps values

Ok so is this is the nerdy side of me and probably a way deeper dive into advanced parameters than most want to go but the synergy modules allow you to change value on the cathode bias from. A 22 to 68 to 1 uf is there any way to simulate that in the Axe ? or change the clipping from like a...

    2 Pitch Blocks

As I mentioned above ,and keep in mind i know nothing about how much CPU it takes but a seperate block just for light drop fx or combo whammy/ drop block would be really cool
  76. R

    2 Pitch Blocks

Cliff posted on TGP that the head engineer on FM9 has spent this last week porting and working on the pitch stuff the pitch detection just got a tweak and improvements so who knows fingers crossed it is coming soon

  78. R

Want a KSR Amp? You probably already have it in the Solo models

Yep they are in fact Lead 1 mode on the original Colossus is like 90% SLO from my email with Kyle basically his amps are biased very cold like a 5150 plus he has a lot of low cut on the tight setting but yes colder bias , fat switch input boost on , jj preamp tubes low cut too taste , change...

Nah i think Full res will be a ways out if it comes to FM3 maybe the FM9 as it has an extra cab block not sure what next update will be i think maybe UI or pitch block the pitch is really the only thing left to match the AF3 I think even if they could not do the whole pitch block maybe a...

Sticking with the FM3? Upgrading to FM9? Why?

As i had mentioned prior i really like the FM9 but it is on the FM3 update schedule , for me i want to see the pitch block get updated it would be great to just have a separate virtual capo( simple pitch) if the full block requires to much processing a CPU
  89. R

    FM9 USA Lead Synthwave

That was crazy good , awesome phrasing and tone
  90. R

    AITR

Not likely to happen for a variety of reasons first it is using 10% more CPU on the big axe second the FM series do not have NVM from my understanding 3 you need more than one cab block 4 the FM series cab block runs on an accelerator different from the 3
  91. R

    OFM9G Layout

Chris , i know that it set up a bit different on FM9 but can you show how to set up Matts original OMG9 w the bottom left presets , scenes Fx. And the right 6 buttons used to populate , i really like that FM3 FC6 config
  92. R

    Scene Switching Lag Time

No thats awesome and what i thought the dropouts are happening w one amp block because you have to switch channel now you can just use same channel different amp so that works thanks for the clarification
  93. R

    Scene Switching Lag Time

So is the gap avoided by basically not changing a channel ie: using 2 amp blocks and making sure each is on the same channel since you have 4 channel and 2 amps do you essentially have 4 combos you an use amp1 clean on channel A amp2 Jcm800 chA

    FM9 Wishlist

To expand on that even if one block was a capo doing relatively small shifts it would be nice to separate it could help the FM3 guys too if they mainly use VC from a semi tone drop because ideally whammy / drop fx are in front of amp where as the EVH micro pitch is generally after
