    Octave fuzz like Hendrix?

Thanks again! The examples you posted - I was on my laptop, and they sounded awful. Understandable, given the built-in speakers. I will give these guys a listen tomorrow when I get back in the studio. I will say that I really didn't hear that recognizable upper octave chirp.

    Octave fuzz like Hendrix?

Thanks very much! I did run the OCTAVE FUZZ on the AF3 through its paces, and still didn't get an acceptable tone. I even switched the clipping method through all of the choices - some were worse, but none were any better than the FULL WAVE setting. I wasn't using a Strat, but a PRS McCarty with...

Importing Fm 3 patches into Axe FX III mk 2

(Not yet helpful) - why did you do your backup as blocks as opposed to presets? It seems it would be harder to reconstruct the FM3->AXFX3 presets, as you'd need to remember the various blocks used in the preset(s). I'm of the school that backing up presets is best.

Question about frfr and studio monitor volume

It's really your call. In my case, I keep my CLR's around 11 o'clock, and I keep the AXE FX III at around 9-10 o'clock. I'm a bedroom studio player, so that's all I need. If I needed louder, I'd probably look to the OUT level on the Axe. If I still needed more, I might crank the CLR's. The bone...

I'm surprised you omitted a volume pedal - I use it at the end of the chain so it doesn't affect tonality. After all, as Eddie Van Halen pointed out, the volume control is really a tone control (ergo not really a volume control). I agree.

    Bug or stupidity (14.00)?

Perhaps the scene philosophy doesn't generally permit drastic parameter changes (too bad), or for that matter, any immersion into the block level parameters. I would actually enjoy the ability to control amp boost from a scene change!!! For now, I do it with a SCENE CONTROLLER.
  28. plyall

    Bug or stupidity (14.00)?

Sorry - meant to respond to this with the last reply... Um.. err... yup it do, if you use SCENE CONTROLLERS. You can tweak pretty much anything you like from SCENE to SCENE. Granted, you only have two SCENE CONTROLLERS, but you can tie them to multiple targets.
  29. plyall

    Bug or stupidity (14.00)?

I agree, but I think there's still room for debate... In effect, scene changes are all about ENGAGE/BYPASS right? IMHO, MUTES are also like an effect bypass in this context (mute speaker A on scene 2, and simultaneously unmute speaker B)? I'm my twisted ex-engineer mind, this makes sense.
  30. plyall

    Bug or stupidity (14.00)?

Good stuff! But let me ask you this - couldn't the CHANNEL change be used to load completely different speakers? That's a big job. The scene change (IMHO) should really be capable of managing cabinet mutes.
  31. plyall

    Bug or stupidity (14.00)?

Folks - While mucking around this evening in Axe Edit, I found something that seems inconsistent. It appears that speaker (CAB) muting does not change with the SCENES setting. I'm sure there are other ways this can be done (i.e. channels), but I found it odd. Example: Scene 1: Cab A and B...

FW 11b - Overview of New Speaker Impedance Modelling

IR/CAB are synonymous as far as I'm concerned, with one small distinction: CAB is a block. IR (any of them) is what you load into a CAB block.
