    The knobs was a bit dissapointing in the Axefx. There were a lot af adjustment in the firmware to make them feel like they feel now. Probably a fine tuned touch screen will surpass analog knob.

    Glad to hear you nailed (mostly) your sound. I tend to avoid noise gate live. Fractal have less noise than real amp. I lower the volume on the guitar if needed. Try setting noise gate much lower.

    I understand why it is hidden. Usually SE poweramp is cathode biased and have some sag in the power supply, and the OT is gapped and build to withstand higher current. Shutting off simply half tubes could lead to unwanted and unpleasant clipping, like a clipped solid state poweramp!

    Crancking the gain means lots of nasty clipping on 2nd stage, C.follower and lastly poweramp tubes. Lower the gain till the distortion is pleasant to your ears... any guitar tube amp is a mix and blend of different distortions, in each stage.

    I was against touch screen, but after a period on hi-end live devices with touch screen, editing FM3 on the fly with buttons is a pain. If there was a few parameters, I'm ok with buttons and knobs. If there are multiple levels, pages, list, scrolls... than touch screen is the only way to go. Sorry.

    Yup, I remember real one can sound fuzzylike if pushed. The segret with real TW was to push the poweramp at high (and I mean HIGH) level, and control distortion and tone with volume and touch. Good clean, interesting overdrive, and fuzzy lead (in a good way) without touching any amp control.
