FM3 P&W. Leave on or off?

Once I load in and soundcheck, I never turn my Fractal gear off until load out. I have never had a problem.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 19.00 Beta 2

Oh man. I'm going to update after my gigs this weekend. As in "...I'm taking my AxeFX III back to the hotel room after Saturday night's gig to play with the new FW Beta..." Yep. That's how hard I party as a late-50s aged rock star.

    NAS Hard Drives

My RAID is mirrored, and backed up to Backblaze. The HDs in the RAID (a Synology) were purchased on the same date. I guess it's possible that they are going to hit their wonky point at about the same time, which would be annoying. It's also likely that I'll swap in some larger drives before then.

    Schecter C-1 Silver Mountain

Plek is worth it. I've had that done to a few of my guitars, and it's especially valuable for stainless steel frets.

Time to leave Pro Tools. What would be a good replacement?

I'll throw in another vote for Logic Pro X. I was a ProTools user for a long time, and switched a number of years ago. Love it.

Anyone else think the Axechange can benefit from a refresh?

For those of us who use other site / systems to sift through big repositories of media.... what are the best characteristics of those systems? In a lot of ways, I would rather have the editor simply treat the new AxeChange as a remote preset library. It doesn't need to be a separate tool; just...

Anxiously awaiting FM3 firmware 5.0 beta

That's my solution as well. I bought an extra transmitter for my backup guitar, and can switch them pretty quickly. A friend of mine has it transmitter on his belt, and just hits a mute patch, unplugs, switches guitars and plugs back in, and then un-mutes. He's faster than me at guitar...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

Another thing you should know about the AxeFX Integration mode: AxeFX commands / interactions require a slightly longer button press for some reason. If you just tap a button, it will fire any messages that regular MIDI or MC6 commands. But any actions that require interaction with Fractal gear...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

What you should know about the AxeFX Integration mode in the MC6 Set your MC6 and Fractal Devices to different MIDI channels. On the MC6 editor, let's say you assign Bank 1 Preset (button) A to AxeFX Integration / FM3 / Preset Select, and in the Preset Start From dropdown, you pick zero. Now...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

Yep. I've confirmed that everything is working correctly now. I've also been in touch with Morningstar tech support, which is really great and they're quick to reply. The issue was the power supply. So, despite what the manual says, you should probably be supplying 200 mA to the MC6. I've...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

Ah... I have identified a possible culprit here. According to the Morningstar manual "The MC6 requires at least 120mA of power at 9VDC". I'm providing it 250 mA from a pedalboard power supply. As an experiment, I swapped it out for a power supply with 500 mA, and everything with the MC6 became...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

I did that, and it responded by being off by 384 + offset. I set the offset back zero, and it responded by being off by 384 presets. For some reason, the FM3 is going to Bank C, which is weird. I scroll back to bank A preset zero on the FM3, and resend the command. Again, the FM3 goes to the PC...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

I've read a number of threads where people were successful doing this, and I'm thinking it's an isolated problem. It's unusual, especially given the relative simplicity of MIDI messaging, and I will isolate the variables later today. The MC6 seems really great , and I'm glad I have it. I just...

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

My PC Offset is set to zero. The MC6 and FM3 are on different MIDI Channels. This is really odd.

RESOLVED! FM3 MIDI Control via Morningstar MC6 Mk II

I verified this as well. I haven't got a MIDI message sniffer at the moment, but have ordered a MIDI to USB cable so I can intercept the message being sent from the MC6. The MC6 has a MIDI logger that records the message being sent, and it reports that the correct MIDI message is being...
