AX8 Tremolo just doesn't sound...right

Use the Log wave. That feels more like the optical sound to me. I use it in the vibe as well.

New comps and shimmer drive?

Isn't all digital reverb really just delay with lots of of taps and I guess when I think about the physics isn't real life reverb just lots of delayed reflections smearing together. I do wish it was easier to cop the sound of a strymon cloud reverb or choral reverb (formant) and the tape crinkle...

fw 7.0 Essential Low Gain Tones

1959 plexi with the tv cab. I think it's cab #103. Morgan AC20 with the matching blue cab. I also really like the Carol Ann Triptik Classic preset that comes with the unit.

Twin issue?

Cliff explained once on here about perceived distortion from a loud amp in the room vs a recording the same amp. Basically the amp sounds less distorted to the ear in the room because of volume or something like that.
