    I also use them. I found that they indeed sound bassy and muddy if I put them on a hardwood floor. I put them on an amp stand and they sound good.

    No I have not. I use it for recording only through Torpedo Live. Anyway to profile it I need to rent a studio with isolation booth or what not. It sounds good when turned up and at home it will make my ears bleed at this level.

    Also true. I believe that the main reason is that chinese is poorly made pcb, while true US unit has everything point to point.

    Exactly. Those chinese builds just suck the tone. I guess they replace good NOS virtual capacitors with cheap chinese ones. :)

    This weekend I went and installed FW 3.52. I thought that the feel was a little softer. Then reinstalled 5.0.1 and I think it feels the same as 3.52. Then I went back to 3.52 and recorded to my computer a short clip, then did the same with 5.0.1. The recordings were identical. I guess it is...

    So...I received today Kemper....

    I had kemper for a while and returned it. I felt like all profiles sounded the same (gain character mainly). Also i did not care for much of the models that were out there. Basically if you are not profiling your own set up you rely on whatever other guys think is a good tone.

    Questions for those using Alto TS212

    I had the same issue with Alto TS212. I had it standing on a hardwood floor. What I did I put it on a tilted amp stand and now everything sounds great.

    I checked the VU meter it shows -4db Also checked the input level in utility/status and it shows decent level about half the bar. But the led indicators show nothing.
