Thanks. I also found the MOTU Ultralite mk5 and the Antelope Zen Quadro, both of which would be better for me, but they each have downsides. I have yet to find a "brand name" converter box...

Tried two more converter boxes. One didn't connect at all and the other exhibits the same issue. On top of that, the Axe and the Audient don't work well in aggregate device mode. Hell, I'd buy a different interface, but I can't find a current interface <$1k that has coax RCA in and outs. It...

Anyone successfully connecting AxeFX SPDIF out to an interface?

I ordered a couple more of the converter boxes as it seems that's the only questionable bit at this point. Audient suggested I get a "name brand" but the only branded ones I find are just random Chinese boxes with funny brand names. Anyone know of a box that is made by a reliable manufacturer?

Done all of the above. I do notice3 that sometimes, the error message will switch to "Mismatched Sample Rates." In Audio MIDI Setup, the Audient is ofc set to 48k. All of the converter boxes have been cheap amazon ones. Does anyone have a known good one?

My guess is that I powered the unit down while it was starting up. No idea if this really was the cause...

I restored that file from one 2 months old and all was well. It is a bit concerning that the problem was not brought on by updating firmware...

But if the backup file is from a different firmware it will make it FUBAR? How can I figure out the backup's firmware version and how can I get an older FW?

All of my presets are there and work, but all of my layouts have disappeared. Is there a way to just restore the layouts? I have a backup folder from some months back, but I don't know what firmware it was from (certainly an older one). Will the "...system+gb+fc.syx" file restore the layouts...

Anyone have experience with a very long USB cable to the Axe?

Setting up my new studio and I want to be able to have my laptop in multiple locations, one of which is ~33 feet away from the axe (if I route the cable along walls, etc). I know this exceeds USB spec and so I bought a 33foot active USB 3.0 cable and gave it power but the axe (or my HXFX) isn't...
