Ah ok, that does make sense. I'll have to play around with that! And I agree, I like the CC boost at the moment better than any of the preamp drives, but would love to be able to turn it on and off. I'll give it a try this weekend.

Hello! Fairly new Axe III user here. Quick question, I love the CC boost that is available in the preamp section of the amp block, but would love to be able to kick it on and off as I would with a drive block. Is there a way to control the input boost on/off from the FC12? I tried looking at...

I'm digging the crown. The SLA2 is good, but it's heavy as hell at 26 lbs, is deeper than my axe-fx so it barely fit in my rag bag, and runs very hot. The crown seems to sound just as good, is only 9 lbs and 7 inches deep. Lots more headroom and also can run bridged mono at 4 ohm, which the SLA2...

I do recall seeing a thread on here awhile back that they did. Don't recall the speaker setup that was used though. Gonna put it through it's paces tonight at band practice, but so far I am reallllly blown away by it. We hooked an ipod up to a power amp and ran it into the cab the other night...

I asked him about that he said he created it to be full range and flat response. From an EQ standpoint, it's extremely similar to a PA speaker that comprises a 12" speaker and a 5" tweeter. He created it to be extremely flat EQ-wise, as I would imagine you'd want a PA speaker to be. All I know...

Is the Ultra right for me?

I can't stress the beauty of the midi controller enough. When I had my big rig, at one point there were probably at least 15 pedals on there. If I lost my signal during a show, I had to lean down and check 30 inputs/outputs between those 15 pedals, check the pedal power, plus all of the inputs...

any reason to use 2 midi cables hooked up to GCP?

That does make sense. I also moved from an 11R to an ultra, and use the GCP. I only use one 7 pin midi cable to phantom power the GCP. I don't toggle effects on and off from the Axe when the midi controller is hooked up, since that's that it is there for, so there's no need to run anything to...

Guess I should introduce myself ... lol ...

I think $1200 is steep for an Ultra. I got mine for $900 and that included an old school digital music corp ground control that I flipped for $100! Welcome to the board! I'm new here myself.
