Randy Staub engineered that album so he may have used his famous SRS Wow Thing. I know he used it on Metallica's black album, but don't know for sure if he owned/used it for Feelgood.

Not enough gain? You a comedian, bro? There are a few controls on the other Amp Block pages to add more gain; not just the drive knobs on the Amp Block's Basic Page. Additionally, you may slap a Drive Block in front of the amp...or a second one. The Drive Block has close to three dozen...

Look What Arrived Today

I remember reading something years ago that he used a Marshall in the studio for I&W. I know he used a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge on I&W. I&W tour is different than tracking guitar parts months prior. He also used a JEM during the I&W tour and to track all of the clean parts on Awake...

44.1Hz vs 48Hz issue.

If you were given 44.1 kHz tracks, then won't the project lead expect a 44.1 kHz lead guitar track?

Axe-Edit 3.1.5 Released

Is this Axe Edit compatible with the 18 beta? The only reason I've held off on trying the 18 beta is that I read Axe Edit doesn't work with it. I'm a big Axe Edit user.

That's interesting. I didn't notice that before. Is 18 going gold soon? If so, does that mean the final handful of amps, like Petrucci's IIc+, have been G3'd or will they be rolled into a follow on update (18.1 or the like)?

way to record wet and dry tracks without USB?

A simple global setting in the output menu as opposed to having to modify individual presets. I don't get how that's not baked into the product.

way to record wet and dry tracks without USB?

Why isn't there a built-in solution for this? My Pod XT Pro that I bought nearly 10 years ago has a dedicated 'dry, unprocessed output' on the rear of the unit. Can a menu item be added that allows something similar? Like "Output 1 + dry at Output 2"?

Apogee Users: +4dBu or -10dBv

I have an Axe-Fx II and an Apogee ensemble. I changed the inputs on the ensemble between +4 and -10 and heard no difference in quality or volume. Now changing the outputs on the ensemble between +4 and -10 did change volume, but that has nothing to do with the Axe-Fx. This changes what the...
