In some cases yeah .... What we are talking about is reducing risk not completely eliminating it. Some one grabbing a surge protector (various levels of quality there also) is way better than nothing.

Rack case will just protect from scratches and protect knobs in the event of a fall. No need to worry about humidity or temp it's good in all likely scenarios except for rain! Wipe down is fine. Vacuum outside of vents is fine. No need to unplug cables but no issue with replugging ten times a...

First time buyer : XL worth it?

One reason that other's failed to mention is the far superior case and fan design of the XL over MK i & ii. I bought a Mk i initially and the noise in my studio drove me insane. I researched fan mods etc but to do it like the XL you would need to remove the motherboard and drill air intakes on...

Updates Firmware and Axe EDit But Axe Edit Wont Connect

This is still a current fix as of OS X 10.11.5 and AXE EDIT 3.7.2 FractalBot would reload firmware and banks of patches but Axe Edit refused to see the Axe FX II even after restarts shutdowns change cables and USB ports on the Mac until deselected the port to none then reselected The Axe...

Amp Show discount?

Ok thanks guys. There was a guy on the TGP forums I think who bought an XL+ & MFC-101 MkIII at last Octobers Amp show for a show discount after trying the AX8. He was a Kemper user actually, tried a lame Helix like me and was forced to get into bed with his banker again to go Fractal! HaHA...

I agree once you are digital you stay there unless in rare circumstances you need some tone shaping from a super high end tube eq or something. You are also correct that the digital audio data in spdif is exactly the same... the only reason to use AES over spdif is very long cable runs. Fractal...

Well all the jacks can both intake and outtake ... which is doing which would be a science test but irrelevant for my purposes. The only way to control it would be to have an outtake fan in the side opposite the DSPs. I appreciate some are saying that blowing even the warmish air over the dsp...
