IEM Systems-What do you use/recommend?

I have been using the 808 for 5 years now and it's been 100% fantastic... My buddy recently upgraded from 808 to 909 and loves it... I might pull an upgrade later in the year but my 808s are still going strong... hundreds of shows with ZERO hiccups.

Looking to upgrade to an AX-8 (or Helix) and build a rig around it. Where to start?

I have both an AX8 and Helix.. I have gigged the AX8 a good number of times... I'm gigging the Helix this weekend we'll see how my performance goes. I monitor through IEM with no stage volume... I had the AX8 first and I'm able to get good tones out of both... they have different work flows and...

QSC K10's or 12's with my AX8?

All of that and I'll add that the K8 cabinet is not able to be used as a floor wedge without propping it up with something.

Stereo guitar live is :eek:. Stereo guitar in the Studio is :D. I'd go for a single to start... If your store has them, check out the Yamaha DXR10... as well. Having owned the QSC K series before and having Yamaha DSRs in my current band... I'd pick Yamaha DXR/DSR series over QSC K Series now...

There has not been a lot of love for the Mackie DLM series... I don't know if people just don't like how they sound or they might not like that it's not a wedge but rather a box with a kickstand.... + the fact that it's within arm's reach of a CLR price wise... I'd like to check out a db in...

You'll get a wider dispersion with the coaxial version... which may or may not be what you are after in a monitor... (Good for back line but not necessarily good for keeping your monitor mix away from band mates... a vertically oriented horn is better in that respect.) But a coaxial speaker...

My amp actually has dual reverb settings for each channel (though there's a lack of variety)... not a big loss if I go that route... but that requires me to use an external pedal to turn it on / off since AX8 can't do relay switching.. (Same with my channel switching.) Yeah... I've Zero desire...

Is the Studio Comp a resource hog? That is what I was indeed using. And was using a Filter after the FX loop instead of a Vol pedal... If you can get the Med Room running with a density of 5 with a Compressor change...That's a lot better than I was able to keep running. Thanks However your...

So I whipped up a couple of humbuster cables and the connectivity is good I was able to get levels working just fine. But I can't come close to making a general purpose 8 effect "pedal board" to use with it. friggin' thing runs out of cpu on the reverb even with reverb set to normal and...

I just picked up a Mesa Rectoverb 25 for a compact "real" amp option. Anyone using the AX8 in 4CM with this amp? (I assume the Mini Rec and Mark V:25 / Express 25 have very similar effects loops too). Just curious where you ended up with the loop levels and stuff in advance of sitting down to...
