Where are you finding an FM3 for $299?

Yeah after thinking about it I will need to see how further "family" releases will be priced before I can judge the cost. It wouldn't make sense to me to purchase 2-3 families, at that point it just becomes an AM4. One more family on top of that and you've got an FM3.

In software. Actually makes sense for Fractal - they won’t cannibalize their hardware sales.

I mean, playing devils advocate...if they can sell the software for anywhere near the cost of the hardware, which is a direct sale without shipping, manufacturing, and all of the other costs associated that would be much more profitable.

Definitely excited for Fractal plugins!

I am curious to see how they handle the remaining Amps + FX. As an Axe-FX III user, some questions that popped into my head after watching the intro vid and a good chunk of Leon's vid:
  • Will individual bundles stack into a single "super plugin"?
  • Will all the other FX be included in future bundles?
  • Will there be parallel "grid-like" routing? (I know you could probably handle a lot of this through DAW routing.)
  • How many of the legacy IRs are included?
I realize this is brand new, so a lot of this information is probably forthcoming. Can't wait!

Presets not cross compatible between plugin and hardwares.
This is the one thing I don't like. I want to be able to make a patch in a daw and then be able to doenload it in my AXE FX 3. I usally keep the Axe at Church and want to be able to make in install at home. Also it appears it is going to be like the NSP model of having several amp models to but separately. But most of there's has the ability to be played in the Quad.

Looks good! I see a lot of effects on the along the top of the blocks page, are those included in the Fender pack?

Yes the effects are some choruses, flangers, phasers and tremolos in the MOD block and of course a few reverbs and a few delays too :) All available in all volumes and complete.

I can see either side. The value comparison between hardware and its software equivalent is an interesting topic I haven't really considered until now
I’ve had several III’s - I’d sell thinking I could live without and then end up buying again because…ICLW. LOL.
But I ended up with the Tone King Imperial Preamp - which is just kiiiilller. So I bought the AM-4 - and have been blow away by it. But it’s just too big for my board (I can’t make myself take some pedals off) and I was just using it as an either/or. And having both the pedal board and am-4 has been kindve physically clunky in my studio (where I have them).
I’m sure I will buy this momentarily - and then decide whether I need both. I mostly play Fender stuff so this is a great start for my liking.
