FM3 Firmware Version 12.0 public beta #2

I noticed on the unit screen that some preset numbers had an inverse color scheme (needing to be saved under the new firmware if I'm correct) and others didn't. Is that expected behaviour
A few versions back, @m_brown added a feature where a preset that has not been saved under the current firmware version is indicated like that. Apologies that this isn't in the manual yet but I was waiting for the AM4 release to update everything. Still a lot to do!

Thanks @Admin M@ - I was aware of this feature. I just thought it was odd that not all of my presets required that I save them again (as none were created under the new firmware) Although, now that I’m thinking about it, some may have been created under the previous firmware 12 beta #1

I just tested the midi remote on/off for metronome. It seems that only toggling the state is possible. Which ever value I send, even same values, state toggles. Any ideas how to fix that or is it just not possible? Thanks !

Looks like the octave divider bug has been fixed. I've been running my problematic presets from beta1 and so far nothing's crashed.

There's still a huge volume jump in the Jazz Chorus model. Compared to fw11 and the current FM9 firmware, the Jazz Chorus model is about 12dB louder in the FM3 fw11 beta1 and beta2.

LOVE this company! Super EXCITED about the pitch block updates and overall improvements. Constantly gets better and better! Thank you!

Looks pretty similar to the first beta
These are the changes / additions in the Release Notes in between Beta 1 and Beta #2

AMP BLOCK UPDATES

New “Deluxe 6G3” amp model based on the bright channel of a 6G4 “Brownface” Deluxe.

Improved Phase Inverter modeling. Went through every model with a fine-toothed comb and adjusted power
amp and phase inverter parameters as needed to reflect new modeling.

EFFECT MODELS

New “Citrus Juicer” in the Compressor block, based on the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer™

. The original pedal has a single knob, but the model adds additional parameters for extended flexibility. On the original,

the ratio and threshold vary with the specific components used and the internal bias trim. As a starting

point, set Threshold to –26.0 dB and Compression to 8.0, then adjust to taste. The new Half-Wave detector

type used by this model is also available for other compressor types, offering different attack and release

behavior and a slightly grittier character.

PITCH SHIFTER UPDATES

Improved tracking in the Pitch block, now aligned with Axe-Fx 31.03. This results in better performance for

Virtual Capo and other types. The Tracking mode supports NOTES and CHORDS, providing optimized

detection for each. The Tracking Adjust parameter has been removed, as this behavior is now handled

automatically.

OTHER UPDATES
Improved Auto-Swell type in Volume block. The new algorithm features a dynamic threshold which tracks

the average level of the input signal. The Hysteresis control determines how much the short-term level must

drop below the average level to reset the gate. The Threshold control determines the absolute threshold at

which the gate will close.

Improved Envelope Follower in Megatap, Multitap and Plex blocks.

On the FM3 Mark II, changed the mini LCD contrast function to allow finer control over a more usable range.

Improved “Dwell” in the Spring reverbs.

FIXES
Changed default mini-LCD contrast setting to 50% for FM3 Mark II types.

Corrected MIDI CC control from Pedal 1 and Pedal 2 not working in firmware version 11.0.

Fixed a gain issue in the Wah block.

Fixed Amp block first stage bias point can get corrupted and produce unwanted distortion.

Fixed some parameters can't return to exactly 0.0 with knob control after going to min or max.

Fixed wrong Preamp Hardness being loaded for amp models with pentode preamps (i.e., AC-20 EF86).

Fixed wrong time constant in Herbie models (not significantly audible).

Various fixes

Just curious - is Master Volume on 10?

This FW 12.b2 seems to use roughly 2.5% more CPU on my FM3 mk1 than FW 12.b1 did, with 75% CPU still being the max before response to remote MIDI performance slows way down while audio is playing, as does editor response.

Possible bug? I ran the utility "update presets to current firmware version" but most presets (factory and user) still have the inverted preset number like they haven't been saved.
