Price of a new Deluxe Reverb is nuts

Nice basic small amp I'm sure, but amazing what the price has gotten to be. That used to be a starter amp back when i had one. Nobody's starting out over $3k.

But it's also considerably more than, for instance, a Bad Cat, or a DSL40, or some Revv amps.

I doubt anybody these days is starting with a loud tube amp.

So this is now more of a specialty product, I believe, low volume, priced as such. Guess it’s rental companies that buy it and people who know they need it.

That tube 15 is the exact same amp as the monoprice 15w and the Laney cub 12/15.
Upgrade the tubes and 70eighty stock speaker and they sound really nice.
I gave the monoprice tv front early model I had to my kiddo.
Nice amps for cheap!

'68 Custom Deluxe Reverb = $1,680 (PCB)

The '65 DRRI is what most people think of when it comes to the modern Deluxe Reverb. Regardless, not very affordable these days.

It's a handwired custom version, the "normal" ones are "only" 1800€...

$1800 US for the normal version seems insane also.

Found someone talking about the price history of a Deluxe Reverb in 1964 being $229 (https://www.harmonycentral.com/foru...tailing-historians-fender-amp-prices-in-1964/) source cited in the post

Adjusted for today’s money, that’s about $2400 for a handwired Deluxe Reverb. With economies of scale, not sure why Fender feels the need to charge so much for their amps nowadays even with the global market the way it is now.
