NGD - Suhr Carve Top Custom

stink

Experienced
Well, after a 2 year wait, my first Suhr arrived a few minutes ago. Mahogany back, quilted maple top, semi- hollow body, 24.75” scale, bird’s eye maple neck, Madagascar ebony fretboard, SS frets, fretboard scalloped from the 10th fret up, Doug Aldrich pups, 5-way selector, blower switch, and active mid-boost switch via pull tone control knob. Plays like it has elastic strings!

Can’t wait to plug it in later tonight, still working unfortunately so it must wait 🤨

Whoa…that’s a nice one. Congrats!!👍👍👍

P.S.
The photo showing the whole fretboard is cool where the string shadows go from straight to the curve of the scallop.

Thank you! Yeah, with the scale length being 24.75” and the scallops, it bends like elastic, I’m VERY happy with it!

2 years... haha seldom what builders quote, but often how long it takes anyway!

Looks great. Congrats!

That said, the TA (assuming) in your profile pic is where it's at!

I love the TA (have 2 actually, one being a mongrel), but there is a difference between the TA’s and the Suhr. Not in a bad way, just different. The TA’s are the acoustically loudest when unplugged and have a crisp tone. The new Suhr feels like home to me after being broken in with 20 years of playing behind it if that makes sense?

What a great way to feel about a guitar you just got!

Nice! I wasn't aware that Suhr offered to do short scale on their standard model guitars, so that's cool. Two years is a LONG time to wait, but it looks like it turned out beautifully. I put in a build with Anderson last month and was told to expect it in June.

Congrats and happy NGD!
