What is your average "Output Level" percentage when playing?

I don't use the built in VU meter. I use the Orban Loudness Meter http://www.orban.com/meter/

I set most of my presets between -10 to -6 on the top and 3rd meter in the Orban Loudness Meter.

I use Output 1 to go to my FRFR cabs and the knob is adjusted differently depending on where I'm playing but it's usually set between 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock.

I connect Output 2 to my DI Box and send that to the sound guy. I set the knob to 9 o'clock.

The Horizontal VU meters use an equal loudness algo similar to the Orban. They are not analog VU ballistics.

When we were wishing for an equal loudness meter in the box, there was much discussion around the Orban and the Waves Loudness meter (this is the one I use in Pro Tools).

The main reason I don't use the VU meters is because I can't see the front panel from where my Axe-Fx II is on the floor and I find it much easier to do everything from my PC. When I'm tweaking my presets I always use Axe-Edit, the Orban Loudness Meter and the Stereo Tool v3 The Complete Stereo Imaging And Analysis Tool which is a free VST plugin for checking if a preset is stereo or mono. It has a Vector Scope and Phase Correlation meter. It's made by Flux and you can download it here: http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/stereotool-v3

I'm thinking you're using the amp GEQ just to shape your base sound? I didn't think you could engage the amp GEQ unless you're doing X/Y switching of the same amp. For me, I'm only using the GEQ for my leads to get some volume and push together. Pretty cool though how many ways you can set things up.
That's correct. For my leads I either use a vol block or drive block, depending on whether I just want loudness or more umph. I had an expression pedal made that was volume and compression. The more I pushed the more loud and compressed it got. I am hoping I can do that on the AXE by using a vol/pan block and comp block on the same CC# and set it to an expression pedal.

It would be really nice if the Axe-Edit could have VU Meters...:sunglasses::wink:
