Yes, it would be commercial suicide. It would be cracked within 12 hours of being released, or even before it was released.
Edit: Plus, getting it to run on Intel would be a total rewrite, I would think
Now, if Cliff were to make an axefx PCI card, then that would be interesting - a couple of tigersharcs onboard - maybe even make it scalable by adding multiple cards - yeah that would be interesting !! But then it would be competing against UAD ...
