Some tone matches I did today - some are better than others, but they're pretty close to jam with....

Slayer - "Reign In Blood"

Cannibal Corpse - "Tomb Of The Mutilated"

I dunno. Seems like some more gain is necessary in 1, 3, and 4. Maybe a little less gating? I know Slayer and Cannibal Corpse used Marshalls in those days - probably JCM800 and 900, respectively. What are you using?

I'm almost certain he's using an Axe-FX II.

I think South of Heaven is closer than Reign in Blood. But good stuff all around.

And I do like the Star Wars reference in the last post. Can never go wrong with one of those. ;-)

I called up my Friedman preset and noticed it sounded a bit like the Reign in Blood tone....although it needs less mids and a little more highs to really match. It's not slinky enough.

Here, try this one. This and the last are probably too much gain, but I played around with less drive versus less amp gain, and got some interesting tones. (I tried the British amps, and they sounded so fuzzy....)

This sound pretty darn good I'd say! I really like the Cannibal Corpse preset.

The Reign in Blood preset wont work for me though. I'm not hearing any sound out of it. Anyone know why?
