While most of my collection can be viewed here - Our toy box, here are my two most beloved instruments.

1 - Mint condition white 1988 Steinberger GL4T:

2 - I also play violin, so here is my counterfeit Amati violin dated 1694, which has been professionally assessed as being made in Germany during the 1860's. It has a beautiful and sweet tone (and while its obviously not worth the millions that a genuine Amati would cost, still a very valuable instrument).

I completely and utterly deny being a mediocre Allan Holdsworth wannabe.

(of course, the sad truth is that I'm not good enough to even merit the title "wannabe".)

Here's me attempting to play Zappa's Black Page on the Steinberger (using Guitar Rig, not the Axe as it was at the studio a the time).

If you watch the video then (a) yes, I got rid of those horrible curtains and (b) yes it slows down slightly for the "hard bits". So sue me.

Well... you've already seen my ESP in that other thread... which leaves only one other... my beloved Explorer.

This was my 'traveling guitar' that I designed and Manny Salvador of NYC's Guitarcraft built for me. Original Danelectro pickup and neck (with maple and awesome 'saturn' inlay added to the headstock. This guitar has no tone control, and since I use a volume pedal, really didn't even need a volume control either. It has two hollow sealed resonant chambers in it. Top: maple, Body: Mahogany Neck: Poplar with Rosewood fretboard, back: Koa

Ended up sounding so damn good, it became my main axe for many years. It is still in my top three and I still perform with it often. Only downside: Balance. I should some kind of weight on the ass end of it.

Oh yeah, and a bitchin' 'tweed' custom case too!

The mandolin sounds better than it looks. My uke is astounding as well.

Jim Williams is an absolute god. He wrote this now-legendary book on luthiery:
Amazon.com: A Guitar Maker's Manual (9780958907507): Jim Williams: Books

If you live in Sydney he even delivers your instrument in person. He's amazing to talk to.

I checked out his site. Very nice!

On rhe uke note:

When my grandmother passed 10 years ago we went to take care of her house etc. I opened an old box and found a 1950's Martin type 0 uke and a 1915 edison cylinder phonograph with over 100 cylinders in perfect working condition. Priced posessions today for me... More for sentiment than value. Ill take some pics of my toys and post here later.
