Yes Guardian Angel Player becauss no top. Which do you prefer basswood with maple top or alder

That's SO beautiful! That's a finish I'd choose myself. Many years ago, I order a custom body from Warmoth that was transparent purple over quilt maple. Yours looks WAY better!

For an SSS guitar, I tend to like just plain Alder. For HH, I like Mahogany or Basswood with a maple top - bonus if it's a really nice top.

That top on your Suhr is WAY beyond nice!
For an HSS guitar, it depends on whether I think I'll favor the bridge or neck/middle.
Honestly, if the guitar feels right to me and sounds good, the actual type of body wood is secondary. Same goes for fretboard woods. All just my opinions, of course. YMMV, as they say.

OP: I have a Suhr Standard Plus, same guitar, but diff color Bahama Blue. I also have a Suhr Standard Throwback (ash body and ML neck and middle but otherwise same specs). They are absolutely fantastic guitars.

I like both but that Bahama Blue is frikkin gorgeous. I guess that roasted maple fretboard?
