[solved] Axe-Fx II as a DAC via SPDIF not outputting audio

Hi, i'm trying to use the axe fx ii as a DAC, via SPDIF.

I bought an Rme Raydat interface, which has no DA converters, so i want to monitor my Computer audio with the axe fx ii, till my new DAC arrives. Is this possible to begin with?

I connected the cable from my Rme Raydat spdif out to Axe fx II spdif in.
When i play audio from my daw, everything seems to be working, the input meters are moving on the axe fx front but I'm not getting sound whatsoever
My monitors are connected to the output 1 xlr outs.

I/O tab settings on the axe:

MAIN INPUT SOURCE : SPDIF/AES
WORD CLOCK : SPDIF/AES IN
SPDIF/AES SELECT : SPDIF

What am i missing?

Thank you.

RME set to 48 kHz?

Output 1 level knob turned up?

Shunts across grid connecting input to output?

You'd probably want Input 1 Mode = Stereo and noise gate off (threshold knob at minimum in input block) for this type of use, but neither of those settings is likely to be the cause of the issue described.

Thanks for your reply,

it was the shunts! Silly me.

Cheers Bakerman!
