My guitar player is thinking of picking up an axe fx n wanted to know if anyone has did a tone match of the Royal Msg 100 amplifier. Im sure it can be done but I don't have the means to do it. It seems to be a versatile smp. Easy to get that classic Jimmy Page tone with it...which is sort of what he's after. I'm just trying help him out....maybe can convert another player over to Fractal products!!

Looks like the Royal MSG is based on a late 60's or very early 70's Marshall ..., with all vintage spec or high end components ....

Any one of the Marshall Plexi variants should get you 95% of the way there. Then just change the Tubes to KT88's and then look for the IR that gets you there ....

Probably wouldn't even need a tone match.

KT66 until 1975, then KT88.

Plexi SPL jumped with normal backed off a little maybe.. Also try some class A amps.. Trough a 4x12 they sound meaty.
