Proper installation of Axe-Fx III USB Driver for Windows for the first time

Is it correct to install the USB Driver for Windows for the first time without connecting the Axe-Fx III and after restarting the PC connect the Axe-Fx III or immediately connect the Axe-Fx III and install the USB Driver for Windows?
Just to note that if it is installed without the Axe-Fx III connected, then when the Axe-Fx III is connected, there is a notification that it should be disconnected and then connected to the USB connector.
 
You can power the Axe-Fx off instead of physically disconnecting. When it asks to reconnect, turn the Axe-Fx back on. That is what I have always done without issue.
