Plugging in FC6 Shuts down AxeIII

I just got my FC6 and when I plug it in using the XLR, the AXE III instantly loses power and shuts off. Once I remove the XLR from the faslink port, everything functions as normal. Am I missing something?

Quick update, a new XLR fixed the issue and all is functioning as intended. Thanks Matt

I’ve learned that any old XLR cable that works for your mic might not work with the FC controllers. I ordered a new XLR cable because my prior newest XLR is at least 5 years old.

This is exactly what I read after Matt’s comment. My ASM-12 works perfectly with it but it shuts off the AXE. Got a brand new one and everything is working perfectly.
I’ve got to say, it’s much better than how the mfc was setup and I’m loving it.

There's a short in the cable from one of the conductors to the shield.
