Old school high gain soloing à la G. Moore (+ Patch)

Here's some one take stuff with my MM Axis recording on "La Axe".
The VHT was cranked while the Axe output was at like 1/10.
Was done at TV volume with a single SM57, but IMO it sounds "loud".
Model used was the SLO100, with all settings pretty noon-ish, except a bit of Deep and increased Transformer Match (7 or so).

This is not the latest fashion but I like me some Gary Moore at times, to not get rusty while just playing chugga chugga in my band :)

Nice job, pretty good interpretation of this Gary Moore classic. The Wild Frontier got me through the Summer of '89 and is one of my favorite albums of all time. Feel free to post more! :D

Great stuff. :)

Gary Moore was going to be my next tone request. At least I have some idea which amp model to use now.

Re: Old school high gain soloing à la G. Moore

Thanks for the nice comments. I was wondering today if I should have tuned my guitar again prior to recording though

Anyways, here's the patch:

Bear in mind that I didn't use or optimise the cab sims, so if you go direct, it might be sounding weird.

This was on a VHT2502, volume cranked, Presence 6, Resonance 5, Voicing Out, Volume High, with the Axe Output way down at about 1. Axe was set for PowerAmp sims on, Thump Off.
For the Wah I used a controller pedal set to External 8

Hope you like it
