Yeah, you were right. I guess I wasn't sure of the process of assigning the input gain to my exp pedal via FX8 edit. But the process was simple and painless. And it does sound better.

1. Using an ebow, the shimmer effect can get quite loud and overwhelming easily. I compensate by rolling off my volume knob about halfway, if not a little more. Anyone else doing that?

With the e-bow my volume is about 7 and tone about 2

My volume is rolled off to maybe 3 or 4. If it's higher than that, things get out of hand. That said, I am playing high on the E string, so we are talking about some high pitches + octaves/shimmer. Neck pickup/Strat.
