Presets MASTER THREAD - AustinBuddy LedZ "BRIT ROCK ROYALTY #1" TonePack for Cygnus X2 available!

Third party presets and packs for Fractal Audio products
Head's up Brit Rock Royalty #1 Bass fans -- Cliff has released a new, public beta firmware 25.0 also called CX3.

This firmware will likely significantly CHANGE many real amp sounds in the presets in Brit Rock Royalty #1 you are using now from firmware 22-24 sounds.

Read Cliff's all CAPS message here before even thinking about updating:

https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/axe-fx-iii-firmware-25-00-public-beta-cygnus-x-3.202659/

I'm have two Axe-FX IIIs so I can run them side by side comparing each preset from firmware CX3 to CX2, and dial in a CX3 version accordingly - but this takes time.

If you guys wondered why I wait between firmware updates and only do them once a year, this is a good example -- because with the new changes it's probable that later this year Brit Rock #1 will need to be re-leveled and gain adjusted for CX3.

I'm gonna start that CX2 to CX3 TonePack update process for LiveGold in April...200+ Bass will follow in sometime in June-July, then Brit Rock...then Naked Amps, then the +PlusPack (2025).

SO -- for the time being, I'd urge you to stay on firmware 24 CX2 if you are using the Brit Rock Royalty #1 for recording...let the public beta process work out and bugs get found/resolved...

Onward and upward!

Just a head's up -- my web team has resolved the website database/download/missing order issues that some of you were having with past orders or logging in the past few weeks since we launched the new updated website in January.

There may be a small handful of customers that could still have issues -- and if so, I can personally work to manually fix those as they come up. Just email me with your order email and what issue is (screen shots are helpful). Thanks.

For the Axe-FX III Brit Rock Royalty #1 TonePack Users (and eventually FM9 and FM3):

Hi everyone:

Happy news. New Cygnus X3 Axe-Fx III firmware is out today (fw 25 pb3) from Fractal Audio. Sounds GREAT!

You can read more about it here.

The good news is, as the above link from Cliff states, this firmware 25 public beta 3 will automatically update key amp model parameters -- but installing this version of Cygnus X3 (unlike the prior one) does not require an amp reset! YAY!

So, installing this will NOT reset any of the amp parameters I custom set (like amp boost, saturation value, input EQ, Graphic EQ, Speaker Comp, dynamics and out comp) made for the TonePack.

That is not to say that Cygnus X3 won't change the existing tone for your Cygnus X2 +PlusPack, or maybe alter the output level slightly. It could.

Yes, I will do an update to Cygnus X3 (but not for quite awhile). But so far, most adjustments or level changes I'll make should be minor and you can make any tweaks yourself for your key presets here.

As always, back up everything -- all your banks -- with FractalBot before you load any new firmware, so you can always revert back.

Cheers!

I really do want to make a Brit Rock #2 (Houses through Presence, and stop there) -- but annual TonePack firmware updates and other TonePacks people have asked for take priority and the time I'd need to get it done...
Please also add a Page Plant era preset. i.e. Jimmy's fender tonemaster and vox ac30 setup. Such as the Jools Holland clips.

Is there a list somewhere of what preset goes with what song what the name of the actual song is?
Not as such, but it's broken down by album, and the preset titles make it easy to figure out which preset goes with which song. And there's a wealth of information included about how to use the presets to comp the songs...

The presets are in each album's order -- and it's pretty easy to guess from the preset name I used.

Have to make sure I don't run afoul of copyright law in using things LZ may have trademarked.

A few songs need two presets to do the whole song - especially for FM9 and FM3 - the Gapless Switching we have helps now (you have to resave each preset in late 2023 CX2 firmware or new CX3 firmware for the Gapless switching to work.)

Started working on updating these Brit Rock #1 to CX3 and Gapless Switching this week. Found/fixed a little minor error here and there in I and II so thats' good. I'm hoping I can have it all done and out before June...

Had used the Plexi 100W in past for some things -- because that map model sounded more correct to my ears (listening to stems) in the past, but that amp model changed some in CX3 - and I may try out/go to the Marshall SLP 1959 like Jimmy used and re-do some scenes (will take more time)...if I do, I will see if the new DynaCabs help or not for that.

Also probably gonna raise the volume on main "main riff" scene sounds up around to the -12db level on a console -- even if softer on the album-- so it's more fun to play the sounds along with the real tracks.

It's kinda funny - these presets were originally all done years ago originally on firmware 5, on my CLRs as studio monitors! They have been updated I think 3 times/firmwares since then and since 202o all done on my ATCS 25 mixing monitors (I heard a LOT more detail on those and added scenes as a result), and we are on firmware 25 now.

If I had tons and tons more free time I'd go back the original tracks for each scene to A/B once again, but now I'm just gonna take what's there and make its sound great and accurate to my own ears for the CX3 update. After all, ya'll would rather me spend my bandwidth/time this summer and fall on making an FX Warehouse TonePack and an eventual Brit Rock #2 I (Houses through Presence) I suspect...;)
