Marshall 1960BV tone help

Hello! I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction? I have the Axe FX II and I'm using it with Matrix GT1000fx and a Marshall 1960BV cab. I notice that my tone is a little deep and dull for the music I play live (Classic Rock: Journey, Boston, triumph, styx, etc). What would you recommend? Maybe eq settings recommendations?

Thank you in advance for any help!
Jason

A quick and easy fix that might work would be to go to the EQ page of the amp block and slowly inch down the bottom three sliders (63hz, 100hz, and 250hz). Just dropping those 2-3 db can help clean up the sound a little.

Actually the question I would ask is "do you have your cabinet emulations in the Axe turned off?" In a real amp/speaker configuration like yours, this is the norm.

If you leave the cabinet emulation on, you're effectively going through one speaker in the axe (the CAB block), and then through your real power amp and guitar speaker. Doubling down on the speaker impact like that could well cause the problem you mention.
