Kiss using Axefx?

The best part of the original pic is that the small rack barely visible on the left side, has two AxeFX II's in it!! (they are not visible in the picture as they are just out of frame to the left)

The AxeFX II that you see in Waldo Nova's pic is being used for Tone Matching Phil's acoustic guitar.

I think you are seeing things! I do not see any evidence of an axe fx ...standard, ultra or II ANYWHERE in that pic!

They are just out of frame in the rack that is only partly visible in the left hand side of the picture. They are not visible in this picture, but whoever took it was within 3 feet of two more units he didn't see.

I thought that they were cheesy and pretty silly when I was younger. I was into the Beatles and Zeppelin which at the time wasn't exactly the most popular thing though.

But I saw them live in like 89/90 or there about and I got it. Great frickin' show. I've since realized that music is a lot of things to a lot of people and if it's got a good beat, a hook, a melody and people like it than you are probably doing it right.

But wouldn't it have to be the KissFX or something and Gene would have to have invented it or something? ;)

Funny how a thread about KISS using Axe-Fx units started with a pic of wireless units that were mistaken for Axe-Fx's, but now the thread has a bunch of cool stories about "The Hottest Band in the World"!

I first saw them as a teen in South Florida on the Alive II tour back in '78. I was definitely a fan, but I was a fan of just about everything rock related in the super 70s!

Fast forward to present day, I played the Ace role in a KISS tribute band for a while, using an Axe-Fx II. I was really able to do some cool effects during the extended guitar solo at the end of Shock Me. The Friedman HBE was my amp model of choice.

Tommy's new custom white Les Paul is sweet. I'm also looking forward to the new Paul Stanley Ibanez PS10 reissues this winter. Afterall, gotta have an ax to plug into the AxeFx!

It all really started for me too with Kiss. With the B side of I was Made...., Hard Times. That was what definitely made me want to be a rock guitarist.

And throughout all the various styles of music I've gone through, there's always a place for great tunes in a good sounding rock setting. And Kiss has plenty of those.
Simple, catchy tunes with hooks are timeless.

I was never exposed to the extreme commercialism of Gene, so that never got in the way for me to enjoy their music. I know of it now, but it still doesn't get in the way.

My daughter and her fiance went to see Def Leppard and Kiss. They had a blast! Here are some pictures.
