JONESING FOR v10 RELEASE NOTES!!!

Two drive controls on a single channel? Plus the MV??

Which amps are those? I had a Mk3 and a roadster and just one gain, one master per channel, unless I'm really getting forgetful! Maybe the solo knob?

thx

if you owned a Mk3 you might remember that the amount of clean volume affects the amount of possible gain in the OD channel. The Dumble preamp design is much different from the Boogie Mk2- and Mk3 amps, but it's basically the same concept - push your clean preamp with pre-gain tonestack into an OD channel circuit. ;) *

* on the Mk1, the OD concept is just a cascade circuit of the 1st and the 2nd input, later models had the post-clean-preamp OD circuit as posted above ;)

(the Gain-Boost on Master 1 just breaks the ground leg on the mid potentiometer, thus the tonestack becomes ineffective, which results in a gain boost!
PS: The PAB switch on a dumble amp does this too - in a different way - it doesn't push the OD circuit over the cliff as much the boogie would do...

BTW, the Fender Prosonic Amp has also 2 different gain potentiometers ;)

He has said that before but that was not my question. May have not been clear so I will rephrase. The dumble was modeled with it's first drive @7. He mentioned that so we have a reference to start with. It got my thinking. What setting was used on all the other two drive amps. I am sure it was not 7 for all of them.

Ok. I see. I remember ive read somewhere that the mesa boogie mark amps were modeled with the first drive @5. But im not sure 100%!

Check here! Nr 9.

Cliff: "The MK IV and Triaxis models were modeled with the Lead Drive set to 5.*
