Help with vintage AC DC tone

Anyone care to suggest an amp model and maybe speaker type to get me started? I am looking at making a patch for the "For those about to rock" Era. Interested also in where to find tracks to use for tone matching, and info on use of compression or other fx.

I'd recommend starting off with a Plexi amp model with a basketweave cab. Dial it in with low gain. I won't get into specifics for EQ simply because individual guitar/pickup setups are going to sound different, but a Plexi model and a basketweave cab would be a good place to start.

Pick your Plexi, then choose a cab with either a G12H (early Angus) or V30 (later Angus). Use an SG or Les Paul with the bridge pickup. No effects, just amp and cab.

Vintage pickups not setup too close to the strings.

Low gain Plexi -> G12H IR's.

Monitor as loud as you can stand it.

There's less gain than you think. He plays HARD.

I think the Plexi50 nails it. Gain low, EQ to adjust for your guitar, use your fingers.

That solo Dallas trick was what I was fishing for. I knew I read something about a compressor but couldn't quite remember.
