I am thinking of buying this speaker for my homebuilt 1x12 cab. Right now is has V30 which ive been using with my marshall tubeamp.
I am going solid state and buying a Art slo2 - would you recommend this unit (G12k-100) or do you have other suggestions in the same price catagory ?
 
I've got a pair of slightly oversized Crate 1x12 cabs with those in them (semi-open back) and they have a pretty amazing amount of thump in them -- almost near my closed back 2x12 cabs. To my ear, they have a wider response than V30's or 75's, not as mid-rangey. They seem to be pretty efficient as well.

I use one in my Power Engine 60 (1*12" open cab) and it rocks, a lot of thump, tight basses.
