Just wondering if anyone thinks this could work. It just occurred to me.
Using detune to make a "thicker" doubled sound has its place for some players (VH, etc.), but a problem I have with it is how much clarity is lost of the original amp tone and some of the higher frequencies. If detune is in parallel after the amp, but a filter or parametric block is BEFORE the detune (also in parallel) do you think that this could make detune with distortion more natural sounding? The filter or parametric would be perhaps set as a low pass?
The idea is to subtly "thicken" up distorted rhythm tone, but without it becoming overly "syrupy" losing so much dynamic information from the guitar and amp tones.
