Connectors in 90 degrees, small and good quality

Does somebody have experience with connectors like these? Which one?
I use the Neutrik now, but they are so big.

It is for DIY

There are probably cheaper sources if you're buying in bulk, but Small Bear is good people: http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/1-4-in-mono-flat-right-angle-228/

They are really small! Great catch!

However those remember me on when I started playing guitar. I had that type of connector on my cable. But they always quit after a time because of turning of the jack, compared to the housing. Those were the days I learned soldering ;)
I guess these days (30 yrs later) that problem is fixed??

Btw as we are speaking @iaresee. What kind of momentary switches would you recommend, or do you have a link to the switches as used the AX8?

Yea, the pancake-style jacks aren't great if you're going to be removing and inserting the jack frequently. For those cases I prefer something like this: http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/1-4-in-mono-right-angle-226/ and I'd use a compressing sleeve around the cable and solder joint as well to alleviate some of the physical strain.

The AX8 use a proprietary silent switch setup that's based on a capacitive touch setup. I've never seen anything like it on the open market in a self-contained switch setup that's meant to be stomped on. You can get a reliable, momentary DPDT switch from Alpha though: http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/alpha-107-sf12020-m-dpdt/ -- those are still pretty quiet.

As with most anything gear related there are cheap versions and quality versions. Switchcraft pancake plugs are very well made and I would have no reservations using them if I needed to conserve space. For plugs that are smaller than Neutriks, I've found the quality of G&H and Switchcraft to be very good and consistent. I do prefer G&H, their construction seems more robust.

For tighter applications you'll need to go solderless. The idea has always made me nervous. I haven't had the need for a more compact plug solution so I've never tried them.

As far as momentary switches, I used some very similar to these to replace the footswitches on my Eventide Timefactor. They feel very similar to the AX8/FX8 footswitches.
