Computer editor and foot controller at the same time?

I don't have a Gordius LG, but this sure looks sweet and tempting. Two cables and you've got everything: midi interface, merging midi, phantom power, can run both the axe editor and LG editor at the same time. One USB cable to the computer, one MIDI cable (bidirectional) from the LG to the Axe.

Anyone try this with an Edirol UM-1G and a Ground Control Pro?

Unless I'm daft...which is a huge possiblity, I can't seem to get it to work.
