Best way to tighten up flubby low notes on plexi 50w?

Lower the low E pole piece on the pickup or try a different gauge string.

I thought about that, and might try if the 100w doesn't do the trick

Did you try the input EQ low cut as mentioned? That’s the fix.

yes, it helped but can't get that palm muted staccato tightness. just not the right amp. if I palm mute trem pick on any string its killer until it gets to the lower strings. The plexi 100w gets the closest to what I'm looking for.

Lower the power tube bias and hardness. You will lose some gain but it will be tighter.

Try the multi band compressor. 2112 has an old tutorial on how to use it that is geared more to metal but could be helpful in your situation as well. Also, I believe the Multi band comp has been updated since this video so the high frequency band can be set lower now.

My first thought. A boost cleans up the flubbiness on tube amps. Of course you get the added gain. Or PEQ to dial out the offending frequency or frequencies.

This ^. Putting a drive in front is literally KETO for tube amps = flub-away.

Try raising the Amp low cut to 300hz or higher. I have a VH preset with a dimed 1959 SLP model and dumped a ton of low end that way.
