Axe-FX II: Tom Petty - Mary's Last Dance

Was playing around with the generous offerings of UltraRes™ cabs from the German AxeFest and was very pleased with the AC30 SM57 IR. Not really my cup of tea, nor do I see myself using these live, but they really capture a true-to-life AC30 character.

So I drummed up some Tom Petty:

Dancing With Mary

And of Course

PATCH DOWNLOAD

The Right channel is "scene 1" and the left channel is "scene 2" ... the solo at the end is "Scene 2" with the drive block on.

It's a perfect example of getting the mix right. It's essentially a fairly simple sound but the end product is astounding.

That applies to most great guitar tone and is a big reason some truly struggle with good tone. The great tone monsters knew how to make guitar tones by making them right for the mix.
