AX8 in the house but .......

-> did your AX8 come with a hard-copy printed manual in the box ?

-> what EFX [ if any ] are missing compared to your Axe FX II ?

Reading his post he tells all of them are there.....

All the same effects are there for people wondering including the crazy ones like pitch, synths and all, layout is the same grid you are used to.
 
It does not have the vocoder and several of the other more esoteric effects. It does have the looper, synth and all the bread-and-butter effects. And it has the beautiful high-quality reverb from the Axe-Fx and FX-8 (because I'm a reverb junkie). Most importantly, though, it sounds like an Axe-Fx.

Cliff ,As far as Factory presets go ,will you use some of the presets from the AX2.

One Question and I don't know if possible but would be awesome to see you guys load some of Fremen presets like Atmosyth into the Factory banks or his Tucana lead , for instance and Artist bank l,with Mark Day ,Fremen ,ScottP and Mikko presets would be super cool .

The factory presets will be based on the first 128 presets in the Axe-Fx.

Fremen will be getting a unit soon. I would imagine he'll do his usual magic.

Fremen??? You should hear my presets!!! Send me a unit and I'll send you a bundle after I build them!! :cool:

Reading between the lines, I take that to mean that AX8-Edit does not allow any kind of transfer of AxeII presets other than a block by block transfer.

Reasonable assumption? ;-)

I think that's reasonable. We know there won't be any Axe Fx presets loaded directly to the AX8, but I have a feeling there is going to be a huge treasure trove of AX8 presets in short order.

I read that, and it's good news as many (including me) often start their own presets with these basic examples of amp types. That does still point to blocks being the common thread, though, not Axe Fx presets. That's why Cliff was saying Fremen would be building some of his great block and preset examples from it. From everything I have read, you won't be importing Axe Fx presets into the AX8.

Now, if I could just get one and find out for myself!

Thanks Cliff / Fractal

My sense from reading your note is that the "final" list of EFX for the [ initial release ] AX8 firmware isn't quite yet "set in stone" (?) ....... just have to wait for the manual then ..... :)

Thanks again - looking forward to news of shipments / availability for those of us down-under :)

Dont worry David, the AX8 will become the most owned piece of fractal hardware ever, so in no time we all will have sooo much presets to share between AX8's that we will not even bother try migrating an Axe FX preset to AX8.
