And then there were 2-CLR Neo

My second arrived yesterday and made me remember why I always liked two of any speaker, only now more so. STEREO!

I ran them in wedge with guitar and ripped face for a bit. Then I put them on the poles you see. They are near the corner and I know that's a huge no-no but it is what it is for now at least.

My son had a flac file of Dark Side of the Moon somebody had made directly from the master, or so it claims. That being said, it was a wow moment in my little colorful room (use to be daughter's room hence odd scheme).

It reminded me of being in Wally Heider in the 70s and the way it sounded when they kicked in the big boy speakers. It was like being in the studio with Floyd. Just awesome and detailed and clear as a bell.

I jammed with the album and the AXE fit right in the mix. I felt like I was tracking with them.

If you can get two, please do. The fun you can have even just listening to music is worth it. Add to that the kick ass clarity of the huge Axe effects and it will keep you off the porn sites for hours. Won't even need them anymore. :)

Sorry for the noob question, but what are CLR neos ? are they different CLRs ?

They use an optional lighter LF speaker. Neodymium magnet I think is where the light weight and "Neo" comes from. They have the same specs as the non-Neo version in regards to performance. Just lighter.

They are basically 400 bucks more each. That being said, they are made in the USA ( standards are made in China but well built) and use the lighter, costlier magnet.

Congrats man, how much lighter are they over the standard CLR?
I think about 15 lbs. Somebody correct me here. Whatever it is, I can lift them at 58 and with 2 bad shoulders so I'm happy. :)

I believe the entire speaker and components are made here. Again, maybe Tom can chime in or somebody who actually knows. :)

By the dude from MAtrix or by Tom?

I get the joke about "Neo" (neodymium) and the movie The Matrix.:)

But to avoid confusion, our Neo CLRs are assembled in Atomic's CT facility with a USA made proprietary driver. Both low and high frequency drivers are replaced with neodymium components and custom firmware. The end result sounds exactly the same and has all the performance characteristics of the original ferrite driver CLRs.

Best,

Tom

Possibly 15 Lbs Per cab? wow that's pretty significant! then again so is the $400 price tag per box. But for some one that has back or in your case shoulder issues it's worth it.
