Advice On Work Station Needed

I'm an analog man. But since I bought an Axe Fx ll I've been selling off my stuff and focusing on building a nice home recording setup. Problem is, there is soooo much out there I can't get a handle on what I need to get up and going properly with out extraneous crap laying around. I have all new stuff. Macbook Pro, a 24" monitor, Axe Fx ll, a pair of Yamama HS80M, mics, cables etc.

I'm just not sure what else I need to get up and running properly. Garage Band 11 is in the Mac but I'm not sure about that. I just don't want something that goes too deep. I want to get stuff done. I suppose I also need an interface for Mics, midi keys etc.

Suggestions, advice and rants are very welcome. Thanks guys.

If you're on Mac, Logic Pro X is the bomb. I am a now former Protools user, and have experience with Logic Pro 9. Logic Pro X is the way to go, and it's very affordable. As far as mic interfaces I could suggest the Echo Audiofire stuff, very high quality convertors and made really well.
