A Brownface Kinda Thang

Wow. Just wow. I've just downloaded the IR and the syx files, and I am just amazed at the tone I get with my Heritage H535. One of the best, if not the best tone I've tried with my AxeFX. The IR is just above all the other ones I've got, including Redwirez ones, and Scott Peterson's own recipes...

Ideal ground controller of my dreams for A-FX...

To me, the MAJOR shortcoming of the AxeFX is the difficult access of the main controls when used on stage. I really need to be able to adjust bass, mids & treble on the fly, and to do this I need to get into patch modification processes. Compared to a real amp with easily accessable controls...

Firmware Version 10.03 "Bad Checksum"

Same here. Windows 7 user. I had so much trouble updating to 10.02 that I don't think I'll try the 10.03 update for fear of locking everything up.

I used to own a JVM205H. On the Axe, I use either of the Marsha sims. Looks like I'm not the only one !! :mrgreen:

Oh yeah, the 1987X is awesome. As is the Marsha. I find them better than the original plexi models. However, the JTM45-100 tone is a different amp from these - and I'm sure Cliff would do a great job at modelling this!

Malcolm AC/DC Raw Marshall Tone Help Needed

To nail that tone, we'd really need a JTM45-100 amp sim. I requested that one in the "request" forum - you can go there and vote ! viewtopic.php?f=29&t=14054 In the meantime, try a Plexi 2 amp block. Change the tonestack to the JTM45 tonestack. Get the master up to about 8 or 9. Set the drive...

Just upgraded to 9.03 and......

Same here. I haven't managed to get a good tone out of this sim. I believe it's due to the fact that I'm not familiar with what a Carol-Ann amp is supposed to do, therefore I've no idea ho wI should use the sim.

Settings for Hiwatt DR-103 and Big Box Tweed Twin (9.03)

Just tried your settings. Can you please tell what setting you use for the Master Volume, and for the Presence? Also, I assume you place the PEQ block after the cab block. Can you please check that the following settings are correct?

Same here. I manage to get in the ballpark, but that's it. I mean, I can get close to the Angus Young tone, but can't really nail the Malcolm Young tone. Malcolm's tone is, to me, the guitar tone benchmark. I really am not sure that it is possible to nail that tone with the JTM45 sim - too many...

Anyone tried RedWire's Twin IRs ?

Same here. I love Redwirez IRs but always default to R121, Cap Edge 3". I know it just works. If I need to adjust something, I go for the PEQ block at the end of the chain and add or substract whatever is needed. Easy, quick, and sounds good.

am i not hearing right? not impressed with redwire evm12

I tend to agree with the OP. At the moment, the EVM12L IR doesn't do much for me. I was planning to use it with my higain patches, such as the SOLO100, but I cannot find an IR file that seems to fit. There is something about the low mids that doesn't work for me. However, I need to spend more...
