I am not sure then... are you plugged into the same outlet and are you comfortable that the cables are humbusters? Maybe ask for a cable diagram and compare it?

For The Love of God! (Legacy Help)

I use noise gates in the loop on all my patches with high gain amps... not sure why it would be more evident with the Carvin though. If you didn't try it, use the Post Level at -10 with your Runt... it quieted mine right down. I do use a noise gate in the loop of the Runt too... It would be...

I don't have any noise issues, including the XLR out. Although, the only thing I have used it for is recording and a test with my powered ASM-12. I haven't gigged it... I think I ordered mine around Thanksgiving. I am sure Dave will do right by those with issues... It is a great time to be...

That is interesting.. with the default settings on the FX8 and my 5153 50w head, it is damn near silent. I never had any noise from the FX8 until I plugged it into the Runt. If you are getting hum, that is different. Do you have the AMP and FX8 plugged into the same power outlet? I am not...

Yes, same here... Which is awesome because I love the FX8 but was not at all thrilled with the hiss when using it with my Runt. Now it is silent or mostly. I now have the perfect amp/effects combination. Love it.

Wow, you learn something new everyday... I have tried to do that but never did a reboot... it seems like you can go from -10db to 4db and the change is immediate, but going the opposite way needs a reboot. It made a huge difference in hiss with my Runt. Nice catch Travis and thanks for sharing!

Try lowering the output to 12db and then 6db, I think 6db is factory default. Are you clipping on the input that you set it to 18db? I find the defaults work great unless I am using a guitar with a really hot pickups. P8-BYPASS is one of the presets... I suppose it is the same as pressing and...

X thanks for the detailed response. I love my 5150 and the FX8 lets me compensate for the volume drop on the green channel. However, I'd prefer to not have the shared eq. The runt just sounds stellar... ORDERED! Friday delivery from Sweetwater... should be a fun weekend coming up!

Still something lacking in modeling the amp?

Thanks Cliff and team... the 5153 50 watt is a killer amp. It sounds incredible and now replaces the 5153 100 watt as my main amp for modern patches. Love it... Wait until I tell my wife I got a $1000 amp head for free today... :encouragement:
