Hi, I'm not able to update my MFC-Edit from 5.2 to the latest version (7.0 Build 3912) as there looks to be a known problem with updating to this on W10 32-bit. Until somebody fixes the issue (reported by another user too), are there any other previous v7 versions available anywhere that I can...

I'm running Windows 10. It happens on any preset it seems (been through quite a few), however FracTool DOES change the amps no problem at all. However....odd one this....AxeChange Presets was working fine, after a reboot now it won't. Comes up with the error below. The AxeChange Cabs bit works...

REALLY good work. Definitely donating for the conversion factor alone. I'm getting some "Cannot create accessible...." errors in the Amp Compare section. Not sure what that's all about.... I'm running the original Axe-II.

Since upgrading my PC from Windows 8 to Windows 10 I've had no issues at all. I use BitDefender and it was grumbling about a virus on the Windows 8 install. Absolutely NO virus at all. The issue is at the USER END - simple as that!

I agree. They are great amps. Sound completely different from the Cornford range (that goodness!). Definitely the longest I've seen without a firmware update. I wonder what Cliff has up his sleeve..... ;)

Gigging without an amp .....

I did 2 big open air gigs with no backline - just the Axe-FX. The sound engineers couldn't get to grips with me saying "Give me the mic XLR....done...all levels balanced out for you". Really didn't have a clue and both gigs were hard work at best.

FRFR sounds terrible to my ears compared to poweramp/cab. What am I doing wrong?

Fractal Audio has been challenged, or so it seems.

I use the Positive Grid stuff alot - really like it. But as for the guys in the video, I really wish I could have called in an F-15 strike on their house to make it stop. Man, if I were out with them for a beer I'd kill them...or batter them with a Pod XT Live or something.

Thanks all for your valuable input. Very much appreciated. Just blew an audition "Perfect playing, Perfect sound....you're sound was clinical". So time go back to (a) normal cabs with a Matrix or (b) back to my trusty valve amps (with maybe an FX-8 in the loop). You maybe seeing an active CLR...

Tried the Mark Day cab IR's with the stock Mark Day HBE preset - what a difference. Absolutely love the new capture method. :). With G3 technology it's like The Keymaster and Gatekeeper coming together in Ghostbusters. :)

I've had more tap dancing mega boards than the National Ballet. I went to the Axe-FX and never looked back for a second. FAR more versatile and you'll save your back a lot of pain (and cabling/velcro avalanches!)

4 cable method killing my tone

Do you need a buffer in the loop? I had to with my Dr Z Maz 38 when I had a G-System. Depends on what loop level is operating at. Ah....just seen the problem is fixed. I'll leave this here anyway, as it could be helpful to somebody else.

For me, i'll take what I've got as I know it gets better all of the time. Every band situation has its own space for you to sit. In a band where it faces me as a wedge with no backline then it's perfect. I'll take the more versatile option every time. :)

That's mainly what I get too. Had a good loud rehearsal the other night and it was missing that 'body' (no bass - just natural balls). Have tried all sorts, but cannot get the CLR and Axe to come close to a traditional amp/cab. If I could....I'd sell my amps and cabs - no hesitation. Until then...

Good video for sure. One of my previous boards (pre-MFC days) was like this and, although I still have all of the pedals, I don't miss the back ache! But replace amazing with awesome it becomes just like an everyday conversation these days where even mediocre things are branded 'AWESOME!'. :)...

Did your effect pedals GAS stop since you bought your Axe fx?

Along with the Axe-FX, marriage stops GAS! But yes, the only thing I've bought (pedals, amps or cabs) is a TC VoiceLive2. And that's been in over 2 years. I can't bear to part with my old setups though as if the Axe-FX blows up then I'm a bit screwed!

Yeah, I boosted on Global and it just sounded very spikey. I think I'm going to hire out a hall for a few hours on my own and go for it.

Atomic CLR active wedge and....darn IR's in rehearsal

Not blaming the tools at all (otherwise I'd be right back to my valve amps). Some of us have plenty of time for carpentry and have very patient band members who like have lots off faffing around during rehearsal time. Unfortunately I'm not one of them in either case! ;)

Hi, Does anybody use a CLR in a backline band situation (I only own one unfortunately!) and successfully get a good sound? Just looking for two Ultra-Res IRs to use with a Friedman BE\HBE and one with anything clean. Had a rehearsal\audition last night and the sound just disappeared. Always...

Question about Atomic CLR loudness and clipping

I have a set of ER9's : ACS ER9 Hearing Protection I've had them remoulded 3 times and have tried -9db and -15db filters. I can safely say that they are not flat response. It takes all of the guts and feel out of what you are trying to play. Good points, you can hear everybody else (vocals...

Owns Axe FX XL and uses only one amp

Axe II passed my blind Brit Floyd challenge

I used to have a G-System like in Bobbys old setup. Pedalboard weighed a ton. Swapped to the Axe-FX and MFC.....soooooo much better for the back and flexibility, even though I mostly prefer the dynamics of my old rig. Just keeping plodding along with FRFR and every new firmware release improves...
