I guess some people have more free time than others. Or perhaps they simply don't grasp the amount of work and time that is actually required when setup, capture, export, import, and save as user is multiplied hundreds of times.... as opposed to turning a knob. The time and effort saved is more...

    No Smoothing???

This has been mentioned several times in this thread. It's a workflow issue (especially when using a large number of smoothed IRs), not an issue of whether or not it is possible by any means.

    No Smoothing???

That would be great. Even if the smoothing knob interrupted the audio when turned (like used to happen with De-Phase on the II) you could still dial it in while you are playing, then hit a button and save it to a user slot.

Agreed. Now that I've decided to keep it, I no longer have the return window closing around my neck and I can relax a bit. However this turns out, I'll make it work.

    No Smoothing???

I obviously wouldn't expect anyone to forego gapless for smoothing. But if it can be worked out technically, party time. I wonder if the FM9 can process audio while the smoothing calculation takes place in the background. If so, the unsmoothed signal could load gaplessly, then the smoothing...

A friend just agreed to give me a zero-interest loan with generous payback terms (so I won't have to sell my III to pay for it). So I think I'm going to keep it. The lack of Smoothing is a major PITA for me, but I'll just build things up slowly. The FM9 has so many things going for it that I...

    Virtual Capo FM9 vs FM3

Not always feasible or even possible. I can use several altered tunings per gig (with a Floyd Rose). The Roland VG was my only practical solution. If you don't need per-string shift, the VC can make a fly gig possible. If you can stomach robot tuners and don't need a vibrato arm, that's...

Sure, I can do that. But Cab-Lab 3 won't communicate with the FM9, disabling many features. I will still have the II and the III (and even the Ultra).
