Help with Midi solution for Logic to control FM3 scene changes... cable only solution (usb to midi) not working

Hello,
I'm having an issue as I'm trying to use Logic to control scene changes for me. I went with a cable only solution (Roland USB to Midi cable and a Faster USB to Midi cable). Both cables did not work. The Mac didn't even recognize a device attached in the Midi Setup settings.

Am I better just to spend more and get a Focusrite or Presonus usb recording that that has midi. I assume the drivers are rock solid and would recognize the FM3 being attached?

Thoughts?

Thanks for the help!

Hello there, FM3 cannot works as a MIDI device, only solution is to use a MIDI cable to connect your FM3 and your sound card.
The OP mentioned using a USB to midi cable.

That would be USB on the computer end and midi DIN on the FM3 side, so he's already got that covered...

Edit:

Sound card is not relevant for midi...

That should just work. The Roland did not show up in the midi section in the Mac system sound settings? I'll check later.
