L and R sum problem. Faulty axe fx ultra?

I am having the same issue. Ultra in to stereo power amp in to stereo cab and one side is louder than the other. From what I've read this is normal and you have to adjust the levels on your power amp or mixer to compensate. What's strange for me though is that it only happens when I'm using...

I've just started using the very same cab but with the back off and in mono all the time. I'll try eadgbe's suggestion and get back to you. Not that i really know what I'm doing! So eadgbe, I guess I need to do this for each amp sim I'm using or is it case of finding the 'sweet spot' for my cab...

Firmware Version 10.03 Up

Updated from 10.1 and love the update so far. Only played it at low level but it appears to have tamed the high end beautifully and made the presence a lot more usable - I had previously been using it as a cut on practically all my patches. I'll be able to try it out properly in rehearsals...

stupid drive block question...

Still think that putting a volume block after the cab block will allow you to balance the increased volume caused by the push of a drive block before the amp block...shouldn't it? :?

Try what VegaBaby suggested but put the volume/null filter after the amp and cab. I'm guessing that the volume will reduce without effecting the tone (haven't tried it myself yet). You'll need to asign the same IA button the drive and volume blocks of course. Edit - just seen browlett's...

I can't offer much help here mate but it deserves a reply. Second Coming is a top, top album. I've always assumed that JS was using an old Marshall on that album so I've learnt something - thanks! The first album also deserves a mention - one of my favourites ever. I'll try to post up a patch...

Shiva

Just had a couple of hours with 10.0. I've been really looking forward to the Marsha sims - which are incredible - but I am actually most blown away by the new Shiva Lead sim! Finally I can go from lovely, warm cleans to jet powered, saturated high gain with my volume pot! Everything in between...

Saving Global amp data

I do the same. If all my patches are using the same 2 or 3 global amps, I find that it makes it a lot easier to get level consistency

When I save a preset, my global amp settings save with it. Occasionally I get an anoying thing where my amp defaults to bypass (I think you and others may have had this too if I remember?) but it hasn't done it for a while.

OK, I've just got my Ultra back. The board has been replaced but I'm still getting the horrible metallic ringing through output 1. Is anyone out there experiencing this problem? I really don't know what to do now... :? :cry:

Don't think it's the cable. I have the same set up and same problem. Used the same xlr to go from output 2 with an adaptor on it and the buzz disapeared. In fact the sound was so good, I had the bitter/sweet feeling of realising that I have not been getting 100% out of my Ultra for 12 months. Oh...

That's exactly what I'm hearing when I play (I have the same set up as you). Can't say it is a problem when I play my Les Paul through my plexi patch but my strat gets that metalic buz through my vox patches. What I would say is that I've heard the same sound through my guitar tech's amp...

Musicman, slightly off topic but how do you switch guitars out of interest? I've been engaging the tuner to silence the noise, unplugging, then plugging in but I'd like something a bit quicker and smoother that does not degrade my sound.

The Edge Guitar Patches

Plexi2 Emulation - Help with Tweaking

Mark, I've been using Scott's PEQ settings after cab block (thanks Scott). It seems to take out a little fizz and smooth things out on my Plexi 1 patch. May not be what you are hearing but I'd try it for what it's worth.

Ty Tabor and King's X last saturday night in Louisville

It's not just Ty either IMHO. The band works so well together. Doug's bass tone and voice are something else. Saw them a few months back in the UK. The highlight for me was 'Over My Head'. Possibly the best live performance of a song I've heard - hairs standing up on the back of my neck!
