New to the Axe Fx II... Wow.

As a mostly headphone user myself, I've found that the single biggest improvement for tonal satisfaction when playing with them on was turning up the room parameter in the cab block. Made a huge difference for me.

Any tips on gigging without a foot controller?

I use my HD500 as a controller for the Axe and it works fine. Certainly I want the MFC but until then I have relatively few complaints because its super easy to program and I'm a midi noob. I can use it for either scenes or preset changes.

Dream Theater: Metropolis Pt. 1 Preset

It looks as though some of the blocks save in Y instead of X when downloading. In my case it was the delay block. I also had to import the cab block from Cooper's original preset. With those changes this is one phenomenal preset! Thanks Cooper!

TIP: how to get a better (closed) headphone experience

When I first plugged into the headphone jack after getting the Axe II I had a sinking "oh no, this is not good" feeling because at home I play almost entirely through headphones. After a quick search of the forum I found the room level and enhancer trick and it immediately changed my experience...

Mark! I updated to firmware 9 beta and yaaay!!! Your patches load fine. I had to replace the volume block with a shunt to get sound but it works. And......as I suspected....I sound nothing like you. Could you please upload some finger tone? All kidding aside, it sounds great and your layout...

Tried both Bome's and Midi OX. Still loads empty. Redownloaded and restarted. Same result. Other patches load fine. Oddly enough, I have this exact same problem with a few of Mark's other patches as well. Not all but some. I like them [a lot] but they don't like me. I'm beginning to think...
